Voluntary Vacancies

At present we have several volunteer opportunities available.

1. Befriender

Volunteer would take the role of a ‘befriender'. Befriending is a one-to-one, non-judgemental relationship where you can volunteer your time to support and encourage someone. Tasks within your role will be to support an individual with learning disabilities to pursue his or her hobbies and make the most of the leisure facilities available to them.

2. Office Assistant

Our Office Assistant volunteers would be required midweek afternoons and Fridays to assist with the completion of office tasks including answering the telephone, data entry, scanning, photocopying etc.

3. Friendship Group Assistant

Volunteer would assist in the running of a Friendship Group. Groups include the running of and maintaining an allotment and a social evening held at a Preston pub. Role involves working with an experienced Support Worker to support a small group with learning disabilities to ensure they remain safe at all times and enjoy themselves.

4. Service User Group Volunteer

We require somebody to chair a bi-monthly meeting with our service users to independently gather feedback from them about the quality of our service. The volunteer should be confident and have good communication skills.

 

Volunteering doesn't have to take up all your spare time. Just two hours a week can make a big difference to somebody.

As well as the volunteers earning useful experience for future careers we also look to offer our volunteers free training in a range of areas. Future employment at the organisation is also a possibility. For more information, email Stephen .
